Dragon boat festival

端午节为每年农历五月初五。“端”字有“初始”的意思，因此“端五”就是“初五”。

端午节是我国汉族人民的传统节日，这一天必不可少的活动逐渐演变为吃粽子，赛龙舟，

挂菖蒲,蒿草,艾叶，薰苍术,白芷,喝雄黄酒。据说，吃粽子和赛龙舟，是为了纪念屈原。

至于挂菖蒲,艾叶，薰苍术,白芷，喝雄黄酒，则据说是为了避邪。“中国端午节”为国家

法定节假日之一，并列入世界非物质文化遗产名录。

Translation

“Dragon Boat Festival” could be the Fifth evening of may possibly within the yearly Lunar Calendar. "Duan" means"initial", for that reason “Duan wu” is “Chu wu”literally.Dragon Boat Festival is genuinely a conventional festival for chinese language program Han people, the day's actions basically evolved to consume zongzi,dragon boat race, hanging calamus,wormwood, leaves, smoked herb, Angelica and consuming Realgar wine. It is mentioned that consuming zongzi and dragon boat races to commemorate Qu Yuan. As for hanging calamus, leaves, smokedherb, Angelica, consume realgar wine, it is mentioned to ward away evil."Chinese Dragon Boat Festival"is a single of nationwide holidays, and incorporated the world's intangible social heritage.
